Park!

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Today was SO FUN! I got to go to an indoor park (Edinborough Park in Edina)!
At the park they had an awesome gym with lots of neat toys for kids to play with! We started off with these scooters. Mommy pushed me on the scooter and I pushed it around all by myself too. It went so fast!
This big girl came up to my Mommy and tried to take our scooter away! Thanks Mom for "saving the day!" hahaha
After playing with the mini scooter I got to test out this chair scooter. It was great because I could push it and walk, which I did A LOT of!
The scooter gym was amazing! But my whole goal for the day was to make new friends! I went up to EVERY kid in the gym and waved "hello" in hopes that they'd want to be my buddy. I even followed around several kids trying to get their attention. I really liked this little girl because she had pig-tails, just like me!
After playing in the big gym, Mom took me into an inflatable "bounce house." It was pretty cool ... I did some jump, jump, jumping!
After the park, I went out to lunch and got to see my friend, Addison. Her Mommy (Lindsey) and my Mommy are friends. We ate lunch together and laughed a lot!
And then it was time to go home ... I was exhausted from the day's activities! I love the park!

Yesterday was my Daddy's 30th birthday! I love my Daddy so much and wanted to give him a huge "shout out!" He's so funny and I especially like how he plays with me! Dad, you're the best ... all my love!
Thanks for being such a great Dada!

Walking!

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Huge day in this household ... I'm officially walking!!! I have been walking with assistance for some time now. And I've been taking steps in between people and things for the last couple of weeks. However, I could never go more than 8 steps and I couldn't stand up straight from the floor ... I always had to use something, like a piece of furniture or Mommy's leg, to help pull myself up, steady myself, and then take a few steps. But tonight, I decided to do it all by myself!

It all happened right around bedtime. After Mom and Dad got me ready for bed and in my jammies, we were playing in my room. All of a sudden I decided to stand up by myself and start walking. It was so neat that I just kept going and going and going! Mom and Dad are so proud of me! Mommy even started crying ... she says I'm growing up too fast.

Check out my walking skills on this video!

New Do!

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Well ... today was a first for me! I got my first haircut! Mom took me to her salon to have my bangs trimmed. Here I am with Mommy's stylist (and now my stylist too), Leann, before I got beautified!
Mom and I sat in the chair and then she put this silly cape over me ...
And then the trimming began!
I was very good throughout the entire process! I didn't cry or fuss or fidget. I was just more interested in what she was doing!
Here's the "after" shot ... aren't I a doll? Mom thinks I look older ... like a little girl. I reminded her that I am a little girl now, so the new do is quite fitting!
I sure enjoyed the salon/spa! Can't wait to go back for more beauty treatments! hahaha

Christmas!

Christmas is such a wonderful holiday! I had so much fun celebrating with my family!
The wonder of Christmas ... How awesome to see it through a child's eyes!
I think I'd make a cute Santa Bear too, don't you?
I love candy canes! Mmmmm ...
After hanging with the family for a little bit we then went to church for Christmas Eve service (at Great Grandpa Dewall's church).
I didn't quite make it through the whole service so Mom and Dad had to take me out. I found this cute bench to sit on ... it was just my size!
And then it was off to Great Grandpa Dewall's for dinner and presents!
Great Grandpa has all of these Swedish tumtas at his house. I really liked playing with them!
During dinner I got a little bit of red raspberry on my nose. Mom thought I looked like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!
After dinner we had dessert and I LOVE dessert. I couldn't get enough!
And then it was on to the presents ... it was awesome!
After all the excitement of Christmas Eve, we had a sleepover at Nana and Papa's. I went to bed awaiting Santa Clause's arrival. And wouldn't you know, Christmas morning I awoke to the man in the red suit sitting by my Nana and Papa's Christmas tree.
I couldn't believe he was there. I was a little hesitant at first.
What a jolly guy he was ... Ho Ho Ho!
Santa checked his "good girls" list and my name was on it! So, he pulled out some presents for me! Hooray!
My absolute FAVORITE Christmas gift was this little car ... Thanks Santa!
After Santa left, we opened the rest of the gifts. I got LOTS of great things! I'm one lucky little girl.
As some of you may remember, my Uncle Phil and my Daddy have an ongoing joke "war" about Justin Beiber. Uncle Phil got Dad this silly poster.
Another one of my favorite Christmas presents was this sled from Uncle Phil! It was so fun ... Philly took me sledding on Christmas morning!
After all the sledding, we went to my Grammie Flanagan's house where we opened lots of presents and had Christmas dinner. Unfortunatly no pictures because our camera was all out of batteries.

Christmas was AMAZING! Hope you had a wonderful holiday as well!

Engagement!

December 23rd, 2010
Last night my family celebrated my Uncle Philly and Aunt CiCi (Chelsey's) engagement at the St. Paul Hotel! It was so fun!
Because we went to such a fancy place, Mommy got me all dressed up!
Here I am helping them unwrap a couple of engagement presents! I love to help!
Uncle Phil and Chelsey actually got engaged 2 weeks ago on the day of the blizzard. He proposed with his dog, Bear, while out for a winter walk with Aunt CiCi. Phil had set up pretty ice lanterns, candles, and flowers at their favorite spot, a wooden bridge along a park trail. How romantic!
Congrats guys and welcome to the family CiCi! Love you both!
